EXCAVATION OF FOSSILS ENG

The work of paleontologists and the search for fossils are often demanding, but the reward can be a beautiful and valuable fossil, sometimes of a completely unknown and long-extinct animal or plant. Grab the tools and try the work of a paleontologist!

The fossils are hidden under a deposit of sand. Carefully remove individual layers with a shovel.

A shovel or other tools can irreversibly damage the fossil!

Hooray, it is a fossil! There may be other parts nearby. Search around the find to see if you manage to excavate the whole skeleton.

If you come across something suspicious, replace the shovel with a soft brush and

carefully clean the find down to the substrate.
